Once again the Rotary Club of Newport will be having a benefits match with Newport Polo at the Glen in Portsmouth. This fundraiser helps provide the funding for the things we do in the community; everything, from scholarships to stocking a food pantry. If you are a business or have an event coming up advertise with us and get the word out to the patrons of the International Polo Series!

Pell School Book Fair A Huge Success!

story-thumbnail
On March 20th thru the 24th the Pell School held a book fair to raise money to purchase more books for the Pell Library.
The Newport Rotary Club  provided Scholastic Dollars to assist more than 860 students participating at the Pell School Book Fair.
With the financial assistance of the Newport Rotary Club every student that participated, was able to purchase a book.  In the past only about one third of the students were able to buy a book. Over 300 different titles were available for students to choose from.

The Newport Rotary Club donation helped the book fair to be its most successful to date.  With Scholastic Dollars and proceeds earned from the book fair, the Pell School Library will purchase nearly $4000 in books to be put in circulation for use by current and future students.

Paul Harris Fellows

The Rotary Club of Newport honored four Paul Harris Fellows recently at a multi-club recognition dinner in Bristol.  Among the twenty honorees were Jason Hill and Cheryl Robinson, members of the Newport club, and Ruth Thumbtzen and Lynne Tungett, who were honored for their community service.  Each recipient was presented with a Paul Harris Fellow pin and certificate.  Paul Harris was Rotary’s founder.  The Paul Harris Fellow designation recognizes those who share the Rotary motto, “Service Above Self”.

New Year New Location

The Rotary Club of Newport is excited to announce, beginning January 2016 meetings will be held at the Mainstay Hotel & Conference Center.

For many years the club's home has been the Atlantic Beach Club on Memorial Blvd., with recent changes to the property we are no longer able to continue to use the venue. We would like to thank the ABC and its staff for their gracious support of the Rotary Club of Newport. The club is happy to continue our relationship with Atlantic Beach Hospitality at the Mainstay.

Please join us for meetings on Tuesdays at 12:30pm. All are welcome.
